glory to glory

1 Jan

2012. The year of graduation. Where I can see fully what is coming at me January – May and then it sort of drops off. Or atleast that’s how ive been looking at it. Until Jesus so kindly reminded me that when you live life with him, the best is yet to come.

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP

There’s no peak in life that you hit the best and then trail down… the goodness of college will only be out numbered by what he has next. Then that season will outnumber that one. Sure, some seasons will be harder than others, but the promise still stands. We go from one degree of glory to another.

But what does it mean to go from glory to glory? I looked up glory in the dictionary and one of the definitions was this; “resplendent [shining brilliantly] beauty or magnificence” and another was “a state of great splendor, magnificence or prosperity.”

So, 2012, I look at you with an unveiled face. My eyes are not covered from the glory of God but instead I get to gaze into it as in a mirror. [Which makes me ask what kind of mirror have I let my eyes focus on before, because the glory of God is ready and available to the mirror I look into. bam. Think about that. That’ll mess up plenty of paradigms.]

Dream big for this coming year. Status quo isn’t your portion. You’re being transformed to God’s very own image. All of the chains, bondage, hurts will be cut off and healed in Jesus name. You weren’t made with DNA that stays the same. And, as a wise man once said, don’t despise small beginnings. Start somewhere, any where, just start!

This year I want to dream bigger. give more. love deeper. serve joyfully. seek harder. believe impossibles. laugh more. forgive freely. talk boldly. act quickly. speak slower. be faithful to disciplines. hope wildly. discover frequely. disagree gracefully. feel feisty. and trust furiously.
